It’s a fantastic place to live and combines welcoming communities and beautiful green spaces.

Attractions

There is a lot that makes South East LAC special:

Green spaces and the environment

One of the most cherished aspects of this part of Sheffield is its stunning natural environment. The area is home to a wealth of green spaces, including local parks, woodland and nature reserves.

Places like Shire Brook Valley Nature Reserve and Rother Valley Country Park offer miles of walking and cycling routes, which are perfect for enjoying the outdoors. Local groups, such as Friends of Birley Spa, work hard to preserve these green spaces to ensure they remain a beautiful part of the community for years to come.

Shopping and local amenities

Mosborough and Beighton High Street offer a variety of independent retailers, while Crystal Peaks shopping centre in nearby Waterthorpe is home to popular high street favourites and a bustling local market.

Additionally, we have fantastic community facilities such as Woodhouse Community Hub and Library, which provide a wide range of events and services for the local community.

Leisure and hobbies

The area boasts a diverse range of leisure activities, from sports facilities to cultural attractions. Steeped in history, Mosborough is home to Mosborough Hall, which dates back to the 15th century, along with St. Mark’s Church and other historic buildings that add to the community’s charm.

For those who enjoy staying active, local leisure centres, gyms and scenic walking trails offer plenty of options. This includes picturesque routes along the Shire Brook Valley.

Frecheville Ponds also provide a stunning setting for fishing and wildlife spotting right on your doorstep.
