The East LAC represents a vibrant and diverse community in Sheffield. It covers multiple wards and works closely with residents, organisations and businesses to improve the area.

With a population of 85,104, East Sheffield is home to a mix of cultures, industries and community-led initiatives. However, it also faces challenges with 52,753 people living in deprivation.

The East LAC is home to several parks and green spaces, including:

  • High Hazels Park
  • Richmond Park
  • Norfolk Heritage Park

There are also several major retail parks, including Meadowhall and Meadowhall Retail Park in the Darnall ward, and Parkway Retail Park in the Manor Castle ward.

Funding and support in East LAC

The East LAC gives you the opportunity to share your concerns, voice your ideas and help shape the future of your neighbourhood. By getting involved, you play an important part in making real change happen in your local area.

The East LAC has a budget of £100,000 to develop and deliver projects that reflect the priorities set by the community through our consultation work. This funding allows us to respond directly to what matters most to you.

We also support local community groups and projects through two additional funding streams:

Ward pots

Ward pots are small grants designed to support local voluntary, community, and self-help groups. If your organisation is helping people in your neighbourhood or delivering positive activities in the community, you may be eligible to apply for support.

Community Infrastructure Levy

Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding is available for specific ward-based projects that align with the priorities of individual wards. These grants help improve neighbourhoods by investing in things like public spaces, community facilities, safety measures and more.

If you have an idea or would like to learn more about applying for funding, please get in touch with us.

Together, we can build stronger, safer and more connected communities across East Sheffield.
