The cost for the service depends on the type of pest, and we charge businesses differently to how we charge residents. 

If you receive certain benefits, you’ll be eligible for a discount on these services.

What you can do 

Pests are any unwanted animals or insects. The most common pests are:

• rats
• mice
• cockroaches
• bedbugs

They can spread disease and damage your home or garden. If you see pests in public areas, report them on the Sheffield City Council Pest Control page.

Pests are attracted to food or rubbish, so make sure your food waste is in a secure bin.    

Although it’s good to prevent pests by following the above advice, once pests are present and need to be exterminated, you should leave this to the professionals. Do not attempt to treat pests yourself as this can be dangerous. Pesticides can be incredibly toxic and need to be handled safely.
